These brushes simulate graphite/pencil in photoshop. They're good for sketching, but when used with the blur and smudge tools you can use it for a full graphite drawing and shading. They work with black and white or colour.

There are 2 types of brushes, 'Sketchy' and smooth. There are angled and round versions of each, and a few "fill" brushes which should make it easier to shade larger areas.

I intended these to be used by people who want to use Drawing Tablets in Photoshop, but they can be used with a mouse as well-- however, you won't be able to benefit from the Pen Pressure settings.

Tips:
Make sure you put your colours as default-- Black and White, or set the top colour for whichever hue you'd like, I find that darker colours produce a better result.

If you'd like it to 'build up' like a real pencil you should have the brush set to Darken and/or lower the opacity.

If you want to make these seem more "H" or "B" just go to brush settings and toy with the opacity, flow, and fore/background jitters.

I'd love to see it in action so please show me anything you created using this. Thanks!

The larger Shading brushes in this pack were not made by me originally, I found those in a set by Dave Nagel and adjusted them for personal use, and included them thinking some people would like them. If you like "traditional media" brushes Dave Nagel has a lot of brushes out on the internet-- just Google his name and you should get a few sites that feature them.

For photoshop 7 or below, go to [link] and look at the options for the brush. You can make your own- sorry, I don't have photoshop 7 but if someone wants to make these compatible go ahead just make sure to link back! :P

you're welcome! thanks for the comment, message me if you post any good drawings with the brush-- i want to see if it works for you well! :D
Added the bit about darken and hues and whatnot, sorry I forgot. If you leave it as a normal brush then pressing lightly over a dark area will cause a lighter line to show, unlike a real pencil which of course you couldn't do that. This is a good thing if you want a sort of 'white charcoal' type feeling in that way, but if you want it to work like a REAL pencil it's important to set it as "darken" that way dark stays dark. reversing it for lighten might work but i've not experimented much.
Will do!

WOW 130 downloads? That can't be right haha!

Thanks everyone. <3 Please comment if you enjoyed it or found it useful! I want to hear feedback! No +favs nessisary, unless you really liked it, but at least comment after trying it out please! :D Also, any suggestions are welcome.

I was thinking of adding an eraser brush but I don't know how similar it would be or if it would matter lol! Maybe I'll make some ';pen' ones too, that are more like real types of pens.
I guess Downloads don't add to popularity! /sadface

Well, if you liked it please +fav then, that way more people will see it. Comments, too? :O 200 downloads, I'm so proud! But, favs and comments would make me happier! :(
Wow now here is some thing useful! I'll have to see if it work with Elements...
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it.
OMFG I LOVE YOU.
